HEY, MR. PRESIDENT

HEY, MR. PRESIDENT!

I don’t care whose bomb is bigger,

Get your hands away from the nuclear trigger.

When negotiations fail and all is lost,

There is no way to calculate the cost.

Somewhere in space mixed with cosmic dust,

Life continues to exist only if there’s love and trust.

But hot-headed men with toys of war

Still threaten us with missiles from afar.

Don’t they know that we all will lose,

No matter which weapons we eventually use?

Mr. President, try thinking but do not speak.

Your tweets are empty and very weak.

I don’t care whose toy is bigger,

Get your hands away from the nuclear trigger.

A Special Man

A Special Man

None of his wives

Could live with him

But they couldn’t live without.

After work he would

Sit in his chair

Like a king on his throne

And his current wife would scurry about

Taking care of his needs.

Each claimed he was a special man,

But they weren’t slaves.

At his funeral his four ex-wives

(And his widow)

Showed up broken-hearted.

All loved and spoke highly of him.

But, if their words were true,

Which one poisoned him?

Which one loved him so much

She couldn’t share?

Who felt pain enough to break free?

One of them broke the spell

Because none of them

Could live with him

But they couldn’t live without.

The Battle Begins

Red angel wings were spread before me,

As far as I could see,

They were as red as sacred blood,

In an instant I understood,

What they were preparing for,

As they waited, score by score,

With talons sharpened and eyes of fire,

This hardened group would fight and never tire,

If I asked about the enemy they would grin,

For the enemy they fought took the war within,

From the east a small light glowed,

And as I watched it began to grow,

Angels with wings of pearly white,

Gathered the surrounding wisps of light,

I could feel the resulting vibrations of power,

And guessed the battle would begin this hour,

The chief red angel had a snarl on her lips,

And kept a few weapons at her fingertips,

Today the battle would decide my fate,

I pull my cloak tightly about me, it is getting late.
