THROUGH YOUR EYES

I want to travel the world through your eyes,

Finding love and treasures beyond the skies.

My poems may tell of adventures I found,

But my heart will always be homeward bound.

Everything I am, you taught me to feel,

Without your love, nothing is real.

My heart is packed to travel light,

I wish,  I wish, with all my might,

To be with you all through the night.

I miss your laughter, your love, your charms,

You should be next to me, within my arms.

I am growing older with each passing day,

And yet my love grows stronger in every way.

You make me need your love within,

And yes, it’s true, I miss skin to skin.

I claim your heart as I dream about you,

Dancing in darkness until morning dew.

All my life I waited for your kiss,

But I never believed the passion would be like this.

I’ll be in your heart and your dreams too,

Walking, dancing, and loving you.

I’ll travel the world as you cross the sea,

But when you need love, come home to me.

WHAT PORTION SHOULD I KEEP?

My dreams, my thoughts, my love, my life, my time
if I divided my day into precious moments
which ones would I keep
and which ones would I waste?
if every part was subdivided and clean,
would I be satisfied with only a taste?
what parts would I cling to?
Wasted life, unmanaged thoughts, neglected love, unfulfilled dreams,
I’m organizing now, paring down my list of friends, leaving no room for love.
I’m tired now, there is less joy, fewer ideas to employ,
I see my problem. I like to collect.
I want bigger dreams, more powerful thoughts, passionate love, longer life, and time for each friend and loved one. How can I portion out my life so it has more meaning?
I can choose to love you more, share my dreams, help those in need, and my life and my time will fill the void.

Nowhere on Earth

Nowhere on Earth

From the first time I saw her,

I thought she was beautiful.

Her eyes held flecks of green,

They mesmerized me.

And her innocence hid behind,

A smile that lit up the sky.

Who was I to know,

What was waiting around the bend.

Sweet kisses sealed an agreement,

Unspoken at first,

And hugs became more demanding,

Unsatisfied with mere warmth,

Until the night passion met passion,

And needs and desires were met.

I felt no shame in what we did,

Strong feelings had turned into love,

And we claimed each other.

She became even more beautiful,

Because she carried my child.

We had a secret,

We were waiting to tell the world.

Then one day she was gone.

Her family refused to talk about her.

Her absence left a hole in my heart,

Only she could fill.

She had disappeared completely,

Ready to give birth,

Nowhere on Earth.

One year later I saw her again,

More beautiful than ever,

In her arms she carried my child.

Our features were evident,

Our child displaying the best of both,

Eyes with flecks of green,

My human skin,

Her big green smile,

All was there,

Perhaps our child would be taunted,

Or maybe even beaten,

Because she was different.

Our child was beautiful,

Carried by her mother,

Adored by her father,

Two worlds unified in peace and war,

The first to cross over,

The first of her kind.

If Your Heart

If Your Heart Was a Door

If your mind was a book, I’d read it,

Turning page after page, absorbing every word,

Hoping the most exciting chapters included me,

If your eyes were deep pools, I’d dive in them,

Splashing around like an otter, enjoying every moment,

Swimming in circles of love to be noticed by you,

If your lips were berries, I’d taste them,

Remembering the warmth of our summer passion,

Savoring the richness of your tender kisses,

If your breasts were two trees, I’d fly to them,

Settling in the branches, finding comfort and peace,

Forgetting for awhile all the troubles of the world,

If your heart was a door, I’d open it with sincere words,

Sharing my world, my life, my heart, and my love,

Wanting my time with you to last forever.

After the Cooling Rain

Her temperature was rising,

As she remembered the night before,

His kisses had been scorching hot,

And melted her to the core,

Then rain clouds draped the earth,

And made her day seem grim,

A barrier that seemed impenetrable,

Keeping her from him,

But a cool breeze has been blowing,

After the summer rain,

She’s ready to seek the chill of night,

And heat things up again.

That’s All I Need To Know

Once you captured my imagination,

You had such flair and style,

Words weren’t necessary then,

My heart fell with your smile,

Your liquid eyes held me

Suspended in time and space,

I was happy to be with you,

Anytime, anywhere, anyplace,

But now it’s time to go,

Your tantalizing body,

Still holds its appeal,

But it has lost its softness,

And your love seems so unreal,

Your arms don’t reach for me,

Your thoughts have gone astray,

Your kisses don’t have passion,

There’s less and less each day,

That’s all I need to know,

I can feel the cold vibrations,

Though I can’t see your heart,

But within your expression

I see our world falling apart,

When I say, “I’ll love you forever,

They’d be no other but you,”

You sigh and look away,

You don’t say, “I love you too,”

My picture is gone from its frame,

Another has taken my place,

You cry when you see my pain,

Love has left a trace,

That’s all I need to know.

One Step, Two Steps, a Laugh or More

Through my eyes light pours in,

Bringing warmth and energy to my world within,

From the time I’m awake until I sleep,

Light drives out any darkness I keep,

The light splashes into areas where I think,

My mood changes and I’m no longer on the brink,

“Hello!” I shout, but the world does not respond,

Its focus is on issues far beyond,

My enthusiasm does not waver,

“Hello!” I shout again, “Enjoy your day!”

I bounce through morning with light showing me the way,

But my energy wanes with the fading light,

As my psyche prepares for the upcoming night,

Later while the moon glides across the sky,

Only small amounts of light enter my eye,

And the darkness inside spreads,

Arousing my primal desires,

Smoldering embers become raging fires,

In the corners shadows dance,

Feverishly, wantonly, as in a trance,

Until I shake away the shackles I know,

And loose this energy and let it flow,

I’m looking for love and passion’s heat,

This feeling of loneliness I want to defeat,

I fret and hunger for someone to hold,

My fears are gone and I dare to be bold,

Sounds of the night urge me on,

While neon lights pull me along,

In a bar a woman is crying and left all alone,

She tells me her troubles, I tell her my own,

We talk for awhile and find we relate,

She matches me perfectly, this must be fate,

Dancing in dim light with heat seeking heat,

My thoughts grow wilder, listening to the beat,

One step, two steps, a few dances or more,

Then together we waltz out the door,

Darkness surrounds us as we continue to play,

Needs are filled and melt away,

When night runs from the rising sun,

I rub my eyes and think, “What have I done?

I’ve just shared some time and space,

With a stranger I’m not ready to face,”

“Call me,” she says with a smile,

“Of course,” I answer, but I mean after awhile,

“No commitments,” I think as she hugs me once more,

“I’ll call you tonight,” I stated as I start for the door,

“I want to see you again,” I heard my voice say,

My mind is determined but my heart betrays,

Sunlight washes over me and I feel clean,

My thoughts return to last night’s cozy scene,

My heart beats faster when I remember her smile,

Her touch was gentle even while she was wild,

Already my wants are beginning to grow,

“She’s what I need,” and my heart replies, “I know,”

Love and companionship are what I lack,

And my intentions were I’d never be back,

But within minutes I’m pounding on her door,

I’ve never lost my heart so quickly before,

Her eyes are filled with love as she lets me in,

And this is where our new life begins,

She and I together, as two become one,

Dancing and laughing, enjoying the sun,

And through our eyes love pours in,

Bringing warmth and happiness to our world within.

Discovering the Magic of Love

Her hair I would gently brush,

Away from
her beautiful face,

I would claim with kisses,

Each and
every place,

Those
succulent lips have drawn me,

To sip and
taste at will,

But I would
not, could not stop,

Until I had
my fill,

I would kiss
her neck,

And taste
her golden breasts,

I would have
her softness,

Pressed
against my chest,

I would have
her warmth,

Prepare for
me a nest,

Waiting for
her heat to rise,

Becoming
molten lava just for me,

Pulling me
in, surrounded by love,

And reaching true ecstasy,

And in the
afterglow of passion,

Talking,
kissing, touching,

Discovering
the magic of love.

Some Assembly Required

Another relationship, another failure,

His feelings had become traitors,

He was broken, shattered into pieces,

He had fallen into life’s little creases,

Fears and doubts had to be embraced,

Lost hopes and dreams had to be retraced,

Symptoms of failure had to be addressed,

Passions and gifts had to be stressed,

Until he moved through his own limitations,

He would refrain from any other relations,

He wasn’t sure if he still could trust,

He could hesitate no longer, he had to adjust,

He was a bud tightly shut, waiting to burst,

Wanting his flowering talents to be dispersed,

His friends and kin gathered about to comfort him,

But quickly he discovered their demeanors grim,

And their words were hollow and mean,

As they reflected on each relationship they’d seen,

He dismissed them, deciding he’d walk and talk alone,

But afraid his heart would turn to stone,

He had to find a way to put the pieces together,

To rebuild his life so he could love once again,

Help was needed desperately so he could begin,

From a business quarterly he saw what he needed,

There were steps to success if he just heeded,

1) Socializing with a purpose of something to gain,

2) Selling his personality without looking vain,

3) His public image he would have to maintain,

4) Then convince his audience he was what she wanted,

5) Letting everyone know he was not easily daunted,

6) He would present himself well using all his skills,

7) And be well received in social media’s frills,

He knew he couldn’t be fooled by the masks he saw,

And he wasn’t concerned about someone with flaws,

He was looking for someone who didn’t pretend,

Someone who knew herself and was true to him,

He had pieces missing he was on a mission to get,

She, too, would have baggage, he was willing to bet,

He would be vulnerable, his passion and love set free,

He would be ready and eager for his destiny,

He was optimistic, no longer in disarray,

At a milestone in life where he could proudly say,

“I may be disassembled, but my future is gold,

I’m ready for someone to love and to hold,”

He placed his information on a social network,

Trying to sound like he wasn’t a jerk,

“I’m currently seeking someone who strives,

To reach dreams and goals, and thrives,

When she’s treated like a queen,

Self-motivated to help me cook and clean,

Ready to share and work together all your life,

Willing to join me as man and wife,

Ready to face whatever’s in store,

Bonded together, richer or poor,

Committed to love till death do us part,

She’ll also need to be a mechanic of the heart,

Helping romance along as this vision transpires,

The future is ours, but some assembly is required,”

He waited patiently for a reply to his ad,

If no one was willing, he would be sad,

Maybe he was expecting love too soon, too deep,

He went to bed troubled, afraid to sleep,

“I’m too broken for someone to care,

Nobody is willing to chance it out there,”

Like a child at Christmas he stared at the screen,

Hoping and praying for one name to be seen,

But he was shocked at the scene before his eyes,

There was page after page of interested replies,

But one special note got him all inspired,

“The future is ours, but some assembly is required!”
