Let the Jungle Music Begin!

Coconut tree

Along the
beach this story begins,

With a
monkey in a coconut tree,

He scrambled
high to where the tree ends,

To make sure
I would see his interest in our safari,

Through the
jungle growth and to the plains,

We’d planned this trip and now one selection to make,

“Mr. Monkey,
I’ll take an oath, we’ve gone to great pain,

I hope you’re a music man, we’re ready for goodness sake,”

Off we went
with our band, playing marches as we went,

Past the
elephants trumpeting along, until we set up tents,

By banana
trees across the land the horns we did vent,

The drums
beat to the same song, under the direction of the Lion Prince,

All the
jungle sang in the night, the crocs slapped their tails,

Hyenas
laughed at such a sight while Cheetahs raced down the trails,

What a
safari it was all right, What stories, what awesome tales,

The animals
danced with all their might, jungle music never fails!

    1. Just trying to get the words into the story. 4 were required but I thought 8 would be more fun. Thanks for your comments.

May the sun be on your face and the wind at your back as the Lord blesses you throughout the day. Carpe diem!

    1. Hello Ji, and thanks for commenting. I tried to use all eight words in a fun way. Hope I met the challenge.

    1. Some fun with a poem to keep myself moving forward. Thanks for commenting.

    1. Thanks for commenting. I tried to put a few animals around to lighten the scenery.

  1. Yes, jungle music is always nice and may it forever be! We are learning daily and will continue to our last breath.

I have noticed that my 83 year-old ex-mother-in-law has a sharper mind than my 56 year-old ex-husband. This is due to the fact that she works crossword puzzles on a daily basis. He, on the other hand, sits and watches television. Those who exercise their brains maintain their minds.

    1. I do crosswords, sodoku, and write. It doesn’t hurt to be physically active as well. With writing I like to experiment with poems as well as with short stories, and sometimes combine stories with poems.

    1. I love music and whenever I can I put it into a poem or story. Thanks for your comments.

  2. Very addictive flow, oh how I wish I wasn’t trapped in the concrete jungle for yours is far more appealing!

    1. This time of year the forest is lush and green and looks like a jungle. There are no large animals except for deer and a mountain lion or two. I get a lot of inspiration just walking the trails. When I lived in the city the savage animals were all human and the scenery was terrible except for some of the girls.
